02 · Who we are

Employee owned, people centered, operating globally, based in Montreal.

What we solve for, where we come from, and who does the work.

What we are solving for

The climate and sustainability funding gap is widening faster than the responses.

Climate change and social inequality are accelerating faster than public funding, policy responses, and traditional capital allocation models can keep pace. The result is a widening climate and sustainability funding gap: trillions of dollars of incremental capital required to finance a just transition, climate adaptation, and long-term economic resilience, with insufficient capital being efficiently allocated to risk-adjusted, impact-generating opportunities.

At Climate Finance Advisors, we believe capital can be both mission-aligned and return-seeking, supporting institutional portfolios, financial institutions, and public-sector balance sheets in meeting today’s objectives while remaining financially resilient across market cycles.

Our thesis

Investors and financial institutions can align their portfolios and balance sheets with sustainability and impact objectives to enhance risk-adjusted returns over the long term, while achieving a more efficient and intentional allocation of capital — reducing exposure to uncompensated climate and social risks and positioning portfolios for structural shifts and emerging opportunities.

Our value proposition
  • Senior executive-level industry experience combined with advanced academic and technical training
  • A pure play firm operating at the intersection of finance and sustainability, helping clients achieve a more efficient allocation of capital across risk, return and impact
  • A bilingual firm based at the heart of Canada’s emerging sustainable finance ecosystem in Montreal
  • Scalable solutions delivered through organizational capacity building
Who we are

A consulting firm at the intersection of sustainability science and financial performance.

Climate Finance Advisors (CF Advisors) is a consulting firm based in Montreal, QC focused on sustainable investing, sustainable finance, capacity building, and strategy. Employee owned and people centered, CF Advisors operates at the intersection of sustainability science and financial performance. Our team is driven by industry experience and supported by academic training, leveraging the power of collaboration to push the limits of financial innovation. As a social purpose organization, our north star is to advise investors and financial institutions around the world to achieve an efficient allocation of capital in the context of climate change and sustainability factors. We understand that climate impacts are unevenly distributed and are passionate about combining the power of finance with sustainability strategies to build equitable, resilient, and prosperous communities.

Our story

Climate Finance Advisors was founded by Jason Taylor and Andrea Kilibarda out of a shared conviction: that capital markets can play a far more constructive role in shaping a resilient, equitable future.

After building their careers in senior roles within Canada’s banking sector, where they helped establish and advance sustainable finance practices, Jason and Andrea made a deliberate choice to step away from traditional paths — to pursue a theory of change they believe deeply in, one that places long-term value creation, climate stability, and social prosperity at the center of financial decision-making.

Together, they bring more than a decade of specialized experience in sustainable finance. More importantly, they bring a commitment to applying that expertise where it matters most: helping investors and financial institutions navigate complexity, allocate capital with intention, and mobilize finance in ways that are disciplined, impactful, and future-oriented.

Team

We are passionate about combining the power of finance with sustainability strategies to build equitable, resilient, and prosperous communities.

We guide asset owners and managers with clarity in creating robust investment portfolios and developing methods and instruments to overcome climate-related challenges to move towards a net zero emissions economy.
